Astonishing Transformations

A week had gone by and Chris was becoming even more beautiful since she was under the care of the Stevens' Family. Her body was becoming much stronger now that she could properly eat- something her parents never did for her, because they literally starved her to the point of near death. Her doctor took notice of this and thanked her new family for what they were doing for her.

But Monday would be the biggest change for her, as Richard and Georgette were going to adopt her as their own daughter. They made the decision when the judge assigned to the abuse case in Family Court stripped her parents of their rights- opening her to adoption by any family, and the Stevens were on it like a shark chasing blood before her other relatives knew what happened.

Judge Stone presided over the hearing for Chris, and saw the changes wrought by the Stevens'. "I'm agreeing with the advocates of Child Protective Services," he stated, "and enacting the adoption of Christina Morgan to Richard and Georgette Stevens. Chris, you have a wonderful new life ahead of you." "Thank you, your honor," the young woman replied, and the new family stepped out of the courtroom where Angela and Sandra stood, ready to congratulate Chris and her new family.

Angela went over and hugged Chris, with Sandra doing the same after Angela released her. "Congratulations!" they both said. "Thank you for coming to support us," Richard told the sisters, "If you ever want to come and visit, please do so!" "Could you bring over your most favorite costumes and let us see them?" Chris asked them.

"Sure thing, Kurisu-chan." Sandra said. "We'll just head over now to get them and meet you back at your new home." So the 2 families split up and headed to their homes- and Chris asked, "Onii-chan, could we surprise the sisters with your costumes?" "Don't forget, Kurisu-chan," Dale replied, "the Sailor Mercury outfit is now yours. But yes, let's surprise the sisters with our costumes." So once they got home, they fairly ran up to Dale's bedroom and changed into them before the sisters arrived.

Once home Sandra and Angela changed into their favorite costumes, that of Sailor Moon for Sandra and Sailor Venus for Angela. They then walked across the street to Chris's new home and rang the doorbell. It was Richard who answered the doorbell this time. "They're up in Dale's room," he said while leading them up to that room of the house.

Once he knocked and said that they had company, he walked away as Dale answered the door. When the door opened, Sandra and Angela found 2 of their comrades there. "Ohayo, Rei-chan. Ami-chan!" Sandra said with a grin. "Usagi-chan! Minako-chan!" Dale replied, while explaining to Chris who they were dressed up as.

Chris was still the shy girl the sisters remembered from summer camp... and Sandra noticed how Chris was keeping to herself and went over to her. "Don't try to rush yourself, Kurisu-chan." she told her, hugging her. "It does take time." "It's just..." Chris started to say, and Dale finished for her by saying, "I started explaining the series to her, but she hasn't watched an episode yet. I don't have the series yet, and I've been asking my parents if I could buy it."

"We've got the entire series, including the movies and the Live Action." Angela mentioned. "Want one of us to run over and grab it?" "Onegai?" Dale asked. So Angela, being the fastest runner of the two, ran out of the room and towards their home. In 10 minutes, she was back in Dale's room, a large DVD holder in her hands. "This is all our SailorMoon collection." Sandra said as she handed the case to Dale.

"Thank you," Dale said. She put the first DVD in the player and set it playing. Angela also pulled a case of different flavors of Pocky out of the cloth bag she had with her, along with some ramune soda and set them all on floor. "Thought some snacks might be nice as well." she said as she got comfortable with a box of banana Pocky.

The girls all had a fun afternoon of watching the DVDs- and finally, Chris got to know the anime she only heard about from Dale. She ran downstairs, still in the costume, and asked her new father if they could get some stuff the sisters could have fun with, including some girls' animes for themselves. "I don't think that it would hurt, darling," Georgette replied, "Besides, Dale would have the same kind of fun Chris would, and the sisters would keep them safe if they did travel anywhere."

Richard then handed Chris his debit card and said, "Be careful who you buy from, k?" "Hai, otou-sama!" she replied before running back upstairs with a smile. "Could you 2 take us shopping for some anime?" she asked the sisters.

Angela and Sandra grinned. "Sure! Let us just call our parents to make sure it's ok." Angela then called up their parents and asked if they could use the credit card to go anime shopping. After a few short minutes, she hung up her cell and turned to the others, the sisters's family credit card in between her fingers. "Let's go shopping!" So the 4 girls changed out of their costumes and went shopping for anime... but one thing they had to get Chris was her own notebook computer so that she could do her own internet publishing when she learns how to.

One book that Dale saw was the Sailor Moon RPG Guide from Guardians of Order, and she knew she had to have it. So they added it to the cart before asking the sisters to pick their favorites. Sandra smiled devilishly before replying, "We already have everything we want at home. But thank you." "Not for you," Dale said, "but for us... we would like to have what you've got." "Ah!" Angela said with a smile. "Now that is an entirely different story."

So the sisters then started putting numerous series in the shopping cart including CardCaptor Sakura, Pretear, MagicKnight Rayearth, Chobits, Kaitou SaintTail, Wedding Peach, and Revolutionary Girl Utena. With a full basket of anime and manga, the girls headed for the checkouts to pay for it all using a debit transaction.

"Man," Dale said with a sigh, "I wish we could attend an anime convention to do cosplay there." "Onii-chan," Chris then asked, "what is an anime convention?" "It's where tons of anime fans gather to celebrate their passion for what we are buying," Dale then replied to her new imouto-chan.

"And as a matter of fact," Sandra added as they put their purchaces into the car, "Angela and I are planning on attending KumoriCon, over in Portland." "Is that one of the anime conventions here in the Pacific Northwest?" Dale asked, "Perhaps our parents will let us attend." "I hope so," Chris asked. "That would be awesome!" Sandra sad as she took the wheel of the car and began driving back to Chris and Dale's home.

On their way, they saw an accident on the freeway. "Man, that looks bad. Hope everyone is alright." Angela commented. "I hope so too," Dale replied, and Chris nodded her head as well. Once they got back, Angela and Sandra went to their house to put away their purchases. 10 minutes later, the sisters were back at Dale and Chris's house.

They were about to get started on the next disk of SailorMoon when Sandra's phone rang. Frowning when she saw the number on the caller id, she went to the porch off of Dale's room to take the call... and the next thing that was heard a minute later was a loud, painful scream.

Angela looked over at the other two then rushed outside to her sister's side. Sandra was on her knees, tears flowing freely. She told Angela what the call was and Angela's scream was then heard. The sisters sat on the porch in each other's arms, crying heavily.

Dale and Chris heard the scream and ran to where the sisters were. "What happened?" Chris asked. "They're gone. they're gone." was all Angela was able to choke out. Sandra then whispered that the accident they saw was their parents and older brother. And that all three were DOA. Dead on Arrival. "Oh my lord," Dale said as the sisters gathered in each others arms. "I'm so sorry," Chris told the sisters as they comforted each other.

Sandra and Angela, with the help of the new sisters, were able to go back inside after awhile. But the 2 were uncommonly silent. "Your family is dead but you don't have to be this way," Chris replied, "Once they're buried, move onward with your lives... but remember that they didn't die in vain." Sandra just looked at Chris, confused.

"I think what my sister is saying is that they may be dead in body but not in your hearts," Dale said. Angela let a small smile out. "Perhaps." she replied. "Now if I remember," Chris said, "you were planning on attending an anime convention." But then the door opened and in stepped Richard and Georgette, who asked what happened when they heard the 2 screams.

"We are what is left of our family." Sandra said sadly. "Our parents and brother were killed by a drunk driver on the way to the hospital for more tests on our brother's cancer." "Then it's a good thing they retained my services as attorney of their estate," Richard said, "They left a will with me, authorizing me to dispense with it upon their deaths- but we should wait until autopsies are performed on their bodies. In the meantime, you're more than welcome to stay with us until that time." Angela smiled and thanked them all for everything. "Now," Dale said, "We should get back to what we were doing!" "Hai!" Chris replied.

Sandra and Angela did their best efforts to get into SailorMoon. But after awhile, the sisters passed out asleep, worn out from their grief. The sisters watched until late in the night while the Browns were carried off to a guest room to where they could sleep. At about midnight, they then went to bed to rest for a whole new day.

It was 6am the next morning, and Jessica Brown was preparing for her day at the University of Oregon. She had a visit from University counselors the night before about the deaths in her family, and wanted to make sure her 2 younger sisters were alright. She was logged into her Yahoo Messenger as 'JupiterJessica', waiting for them to log in.

Being early risers, Both Angela and Sandra were awake at the unseemingly odd hour of 6am. Not knowing what else to do in a home not theirs, they logged into their joint Yahoo account 'CosplaySisters'. Once logged on, they saw that their older sister, Jessica, was online- and once she saw them logged on, Jess then sent the first post...

JupiterJessica: Good morning, sisters!
CosplaySisters: Onii-chan! *runs over and lay heads in your lap and start crying*
JupiterJessica: What happened with both of you? *Concerned as she strokes their heads*
CosplaySisters: You heard about the rest of our family hai? It was horrible!
JupiterJessica: I did- school counselors came and told me. Believe me, my heart was broken because of the tragedy... but my biggest concern now is you 2. Do you want me to come home?
CosplaySisters: Iie. That would disrupt your studies. And when you are so close to finishing, we don't wanna stop you.
JupiterJessica: Okay. But promise me you'll do something for me, okay?
Promise me that this tragedy will not stop you from attending KumoriCon in September.
CosplaySisters: We'll still attend, Jessica nee-chan. Perhaps that will help us move on and deal with this.
JupiterJessica: That's my girls. Perhaps someone will make a surprise visit to cheer you 2 up.
CosplaySisters: You can't mean you. Can you? I thought you had school project for then.
JupiterJessica: That's in a couple of weeks- and I still need to determine where I'm going to student teach at. Perhaps I will take a job in the schools where you live.
CosplaySisters: That would be awesome! To think, our older sister would be teaching us!
JupiterJessica: That's the spirit I want to see. Now, what's been going on in your lives besides what happened?
CosplaySisters: Oh, remember the 2 girls we met at summer camp? The sickly one has been adopted into the other girl's family. And we are currently staying with them for the time being.
JupiterJessica: That's awesome! How is the younger girl now?
CosplaySisters: Oh, she has blossomed so much! Now that she is allowed to eat properly, she is even more beautiful. And we, along with Dale, have gotten Chris hooked on anime. :D
JupiterJessica: What has Deru-chan been up to? Way I remember her, we hooked her onto Cosplay when we dressed as 3 of the Sailor Senshi.
CosplaySisters: Hai, she is still into anime. We all were watching the 1st season of Sailor Moon last night.
JupiterJessica: If she completed the Senshi with Ami and Rei, the 5 of us should do some hall cosplay as them.
CosplaySisters: She actually did make Mercury's outfit. And Chris looks awesome in it! She is a natural Ami.
JupiterJessica: Well, I've got to get dressed and ready for class. See you tomorrow morning?
CosplaySisters: We'll be here. Domo arigatou, Jessica nee-chan. As always, you've been a great comfort to us. *hugs and kisses*
JupiterJessica: *Hugs them back* See you then!
CosplaySisters: Ja matte ne!

With that, Jessica closed the messenger window and powered her notebook computer down before going to dress for class. She remembered that her project in 2 weeks was just what she told her sisters... that she had to find a school to teach at. "I hope the counselors did find me a teaching position in the Spokane schools," she thought as she dressed in a pale green sundress.

After Jessica logged off, Angela and Sandra were surprised to see that Chris and Dale were both still asleep. So instead of waking them in the traditional way, the sisters decided on surprising the other pair of sisters. They went downstairs, charmed the cooks to let them use the kitchen, and then began cooking up a deluxe family breakfast. With Anime music in the background, on softly, the girls sang and cooked.

It was the smell of cooking in the kitchen that woke both Dale and Chris from their joint slumber, and they got into robes before going down and seeing the Browns doing the cooking. "Wow," Dale said, "Now that looks wonderful!"

Sandra smiled a little and shrugged. "We just wanted to thank you all for being there for us last night." she told them as she fried bacon. "And the best way we could think of to do that was to do what we do best. Cook." Angela finished for her sister.

"It's our pleasure," Richard said as he and Georgette walked in and poured themselves some coffee, "But having you 2 cook breakfast for us is a good thing- and it's 2 days before Wednesday, school for you 4." "After breakfast, Angela and I will head across the street and change into clean clothes and grab our gear." Sandra said as she finished the omelettes and scrambled eggs.

"Speaking of which," Richard said, "How is your older sister- Jessica, I believe her name is." "You 2 have an older sister?" Chris asked, "That's so cool!"

Angela chuckled as the 6 of them sat down for breakfast. "She is doing well. We were just speaking to her just a bit ago." Sandra then turned towards Chris and replied, "That we do. And it was us three that got Deru-chan here hooked on anime."

"If I remember," Georgette started, "I have a Class Reunion at Portland High School this coming weekend- and it's the same time that KumoriCon is happening. Let's give these 4 girls a trip to remember with our motor home, and we can pack the camping gear in it." At the glance of the Brown Sisters, Georgette said, "Dale's been one to want to attend it, and she told me and her father so."

"So the four of us at KumoriCon?" Angela said, surprised. "That would be so awesome!" "So our spare hours are going to be spent making costumes for it," Dale said, "Now that will be killer times for us." "Angela and I both look forward to the cram sewing sessions." Sandra replied to Dale. "Plus we've got to figure out a skit for cosplay as well!"

"Will we see Jessica there?" Chris asked. "As a matter of fact, she will be." Sandra said. "At least, that's what she told us."

"Wow," Chris said, "Does she have a favorite Senshi she likes dressing as?" "Let's just say this." Angela replied as she finished off her toast. "Her Instant Messaging nickname is 'JupiterJessica'." "That makes for 5 Senshi," Dale said, "Let's do a surprise... 5 of the Musical Senshi outfits, Moon and the Inner Senshi." "Awesome idea!" Sandra commented.

"Then we've better get you 4 girls fitted for the costumes," Georgette said, "Starting with Chris, one at a time in the study undressed- if you trust me, Sandra and Angela." "Of course we do." Angela and Sandra said in unison. So starting with Chris, each girl had their measurements taken down by the mother before she started drawing out, with the Browns' help, the costume pattern for the outfits. An hour later, the pattern was done and she had it cut out. "You girls ready for some fabric shopping?" she asked. "Hai!" Angela and Sandra replied, again in unison. And with that, the 5 women headed off to the fabric store to select the correct materials and supplies needed for the job. The 1 man headed off as well, but to the grocery store. He had plans to make a hearty steak dinner for the group and he had to get all the ingredients.

An hour later, the women were just arriving at the register with 2 cartloads of material and supplies. Georgette surprised the Brown sisters by purchasing everything. Once the van was loaded, the group headed home to Dale and Chris's place.

Once back, they found Richard at the gas grill with 6 T-Bone Steaks on it and foil-wrapped potatoes roasting in a separate charcoal grill. "Hope you'll bring an appetite," he told his girls. Angela sniffed the smoke and smiled. "That smells so good," she said, "I can't wait to taste it!"

Back in the study, the girls started their work with 3 sewing machines and a lot of laughter between them.
